
A History of DFH
DFH Real Estate Ltd. Now and Then
Victoria’s largest independently, locally owned Real Estate Company can trace it’s history to the early 1950’s. The location was on Quadra St. near Reynolds Rd.
1960 |
The company moved to Douglas St. near the corner of Cloverdale |
1970 |
Saw a 2nd location on Shakespeare St |
1976 |
Douglas St. and Shakespeare St. merged into one large location at McKenzie and Shelbourne St. |
1985 |
Our present freestanding building was built on Shelbourne St |
1994 |
Saw Cathy Duncan and Jeff Patrick's Century 21 office on Jacklin and Sooke Rd merged and become our office in the Westshore. Both Cathy and Jeff are vital contributors to the DFH team |
1995 |
John Bruce’s Realty World’s Sidney Real Estate merged and we are proud to say John is a prominent force in our Saanich Peninsula presence |
1997 |
DFH opened our Kiosk in Victoria’s largest mall – Hillside Shopping Centre. |
1998 |
We expanded by merging again, this time with Sue Lyle and Coldwell Banker – Shawnigan Mill Bay Realty. Both Sue and Sherry are excellent ambassadors for DFH in the South Cowichan area. |
Brian Sharp is our Managing Director. He joined the firm in 1974. Brian has a strong background in all facets of Real Estate. In the 1970’s he was a director of the Victoria Real Estate Board. The 1980’s saw him contribute as a director of the Victoria Real Estate Board. Over this time many committees and task forces have benefited from Brian’s efforts.
Much of Brian’s free time has been directed to the Queen Alexander Children’s Society. In a twelve year period Brian has held many positions including Chairman of the Board. Brian has also served on the Board of the Queen Alexander Foundation.
