Statistically there is not a lot of difference in Days on Market and List to Sell ratios in December and January. So from a statistical point, there’s not a monetary advantage to waiting until January. So what is the right thing to do? If it fits into your life and goals to put your home on the market now and you can be sure the house is ready to show during the holidays, then do it now. If not, you aren't risking a lot by waiting.
